Grapes are sourced from the finest vineyards within the Beaujolais-Villages appellation in northern Beaujolais. Louis Jadot practices the quality-driven “replis” method, whereby grapes of higher classifications from the 10 famed Beaujolais Cru villages are added to elevate the blend. The area’s granite and sandy subsoils contain a high percentage of manganese, which produces an especially deep and rich expression of Gamay. Grapes are handpicked in whole bunches and traditional Burgundian methods are used for vinification.

The Hilltop Cabernet Sauvignon is primarily sourced from the relatively cool El Pomar District sub-AVA in Paso Robles, where the J. Lohr Shotwell Vineyard is located. A lesser amount is from the J. Lohr Beck Vineyard, located at a 1,700 foot elevation in the Creston District. The blend also utilizes a collection of other small sites in the Paso Robles AVA. Blessed with long summer days of intense sunshine, our near 100°F daytime temperatures are followed by chilly, ocean-cooled nights in the 50s. These Cabernet vines are naturally stressed in the dry, often very gravelly, and sometimes lime shale-laden soils. Water is at a premium in these vineyards, enabling the viticulturist to fine-tune irrigation, resulting in the darkest possible fruit with resolved tannins year after year. It's effusive with fresh varietal aromas of black cherry and hints of toasted pastry and baking spice on the nose. Dense and soft on the palate. Elegant layers of black and red currants leave a bright finish. This wine has earned the Certified California Sustainable seal.

The Clark & Telephone Vineyard was established in 1972 and planted with "own root" Martini clone vines. Located just 13 miles from the ocean and situated on a west-facing slope, this vineyard experiences weather patterns that pull from west to east to bring cool fog and coastal breezes inland until August when Santa Ana winds begin. This climate makes for later-ripening and longer-hanging grapes with a delightful fruitiness, great acidity and underlying flavor nuances that contribute additional complexity. Due to intensive pruning and crop-thinning, the vines produce loose clusters with small, intensely flavored berries. In 1965, Jack and Jamie Davies established Schramsberg as a sparkling wine estate on the property originally founded in 1862 by German immigrant Jacob Schram. At a time when there were only 22 bonded wineries in Napa Valley and fewer than 100 acres of California vineyards planted to Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, they set out to make world-class sparkling wine in the true méthode champenoise style. Producing just 60,000 cases annually, Schramsberg Vineyards is focused on the finest and most complex handcrafted sparkling wines in California. Deep red plum aromas lead to a mix of red and dark berry fruits on the palate with beautifully integrated oak spice flavors. The wine’s concentrated fruit, refreshing acidity and tannins are all in balance, allowing for aging, but it is delicious right now.
This wine is perfumed in brioche and baked apple, with seasonings of nutmeg and vanilla. It opens in a rich, full-bodied concentration of citrus and white peach and evolves on the palate to show structure and depth. Bright acidity lifts hints of toasted oak, maintaining a fresh and plush finish.

Fre alcohol-removed Cabernet Sauvignon is produced using the revolutionary spinning cone column. The spinning cone facilitates the removal and safe-guarding of fragile wine aromas and flavors at low temperatures, then removes the alcohol at slightly higher temperatures. The wine essences are then reintroduced to the dealcoholized base wine and blended with un-fermented grape juice. The finished product is a fresh, delicious beverage with the characteristic aromas and flavors of premium wine. Fre has less than 0.5% alcohol by volume and half the calories of regular wine.
